his Obituary in the Houston Chronicle

back to our Saints page

2/2/2012 Gene died at home in Houston, having been sent home from the hospice to be with all of his family.

Pat Farra gathered singers for a memorial service that was held at Trinity Episcopal, Houston Tuesday Feb 7 at 11 am

Debbie Milner: Had a great send-off today for our brother in Christ. So many lives that were touched by him were present to celebrate the home-going. We will miss you, Gene

David Glenn  Rest in peace, Gene-O. Don't worry about us. We're right behind you. Gene, you've always been here. I can't imagine you not being here. I'll see you soon. Hug Billy for me.

Debbie Milner
Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Gene. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of your saints in light. AMEN.

James Cappleman
Gene, you're a good man who loved your family and you opened your heart to many others. Carol, many hugs!

I can't get the Antill's off my mind and heart. It's hard to think of Gene without thinking of him full of life, in the middle of a group of friends, laughing and smiling!

Daphne Hazel Rank
Praying for the family! At this moment, I am reminded of the loving care that Carol so graciously and generously gave to my Mom during the final years of her life. What a wonderful family!!

Here's the prayer I offer up for dear friends of whom Gene Antill was a great one ..... on the evening of their journey to the nearer presence of the Lord: Gene be received by the heavenly hosts and choirs of angels and welcomed by Lazarus, once a poor beggar, into the Holy City, Jerusalem, City of Peace. Blessed are you, Gene, as you rest eternally in the presence of the Light of lights, Jesus Christ. You go with our deep love and with the firm conviction that as you rest from your labors, you know the richness of life that God has prepared for you as your finite mind this day has put on the infinite mind of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Donna Hollis
Thanks George, for sharing that prayer for Gene. He was very loved and thought highly of. Will never forget my time living with him and Carol.

George Mims
I heard how totally wonderful the celebration of Gene's life was at Trinity Church in Houston, and it was a blessing to know of the turnout to share love and appreciation for Gene with Carol and their family! Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!
